Successful Solutions Built on BittWare Announced by Industry Leading Firms

CSPI / Myricom and NovaSparks introduce next generation solutions based on BittWare’s FPGA board platforms.

September 22, 2014

NEW YORK, NY – BittWare, designer and manufacturer of Altera-based FPGA platforms, announced today at the 2014 High Performance Computing for Wall Street conference that they are the FPGA platform provider of choice for next generation solutions from both CSPI / Myricom and NovaSparks. CSPI’s next-generation Myricom network adapter is based on a joint development effort using BittWare’s new Arria V GZ low profile PCIe board platform (A5PL) that provides two 40 GigE or eight 10 GigE network interfaces and optional DDR3 or QDRII+ SDRAM. NovaSparks’ 3rd generation feed handle for financial applications – NovaTick – is based on a BittWare Stratix V custom form factor board platform that features 8 QSFP+ and 8 SFP interfaces augmented by several QDRII+ SRAM chips and an optional DDR3 SDRAM module. Both solutions leverage BittWare’s FPGA board platforms and value-add expertise, enabling Myricom and NovaSparks to go to market quickly and efficiently with their proprietary Intellectual Property (IP).

“Our new family of network adapters, integrating our application-targeted acceleration packages (DBL™ for financial trading and Sniffer10G™ for packet capture), are optimized for highly accurate time stamping and low latency,” said William Bent, VP / GM of the High Performance Products and Solutions segment of CSPI. “FPGAs were the logical solution for our next generation of network adapters. Teaming with BittWare on the development of their Arria V based platform product provided CSPI with a high quality foundation for our application-targeted IP.”

“Designed for time-sensitive trading strategies, our data feed handlers utilize the highest performance FPGA technology and board designs,” stated Luc Burgun, CEO at NovaSparks. “Historically we designed and developed these FPGA boards in-house. With our 3rd generation feed handler we chose to rely on BittWare to develop our new FPGA platform, allowing us to deliver the best in class ultra-low latency market data solutions for the financial industry.”

“While our list of deployed customer applications is long and varied, they all have one thing in common – a high level of complexity. BittWare removes the burden of FPGA platform design from this complexity,” stated Darren Taylor, Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing at BittWare. “With 25 years of leading edge hardware design and product life-cycle management experience applied to application-specific platforms, our customers are sure to be able to deliver successful solutions built on BittWare.”

Recently celebrating twenty-five years as a solutions provider, BittWare has transformed from a DSP board supplier to a premier FPGA board platform vendor. The company’s integrated and board FPGA platforms provide fully tested and proven hardware coupled with world-class life cycle and quality management on which customers build their complete solutions. BittWare’s end goal is to provide quick time-to-deployment with less risk, enabling their customers’ successful solutions…built on BittWare.
