In addition to its BittWorks software, BittWare also supports a range of host software and third party tools from industry leading companies.

Analog Devices’ VisualDSP++

VisualDSP++ is an integrated development environment (IDE) and debugger that delivers efficient project management so programmers can move easily between editing, building and debugging. Key features include a C++ compiler, simulator, multiprocessor sourcelevel debugger, and advanced plotting tools, enabling programmers to visually measure software performance and statistical profiling to easily identify programming bottlenecks. VisualDSP++ offers programmers a powerful programming tool with flexibility that significantly decreases the time required to port software code to a processor, reducing time-to-market.

Real-Time Operating Systems

BittWare’s boards support the following real-time operating systems:

Analog Devices’ VisualDSP Kernel (VDK)
The VisualDSP++ Kernel (VDK) provides state-of-the-art scheduling and resource allocation techniques tailored specifically to address the memory and timing constraints of programming DSPs. The VDK has standard libraries and frameworks with defined APIs that allow easy inclusion of boilerplate, class libraries and value-added IP code.

Enea’s OSEck RTOS
The OSEck Real Time Kernel from Enea is optimized to suit the specific requirements of high-performance, memory-constrained applications. It is a fully preemptive kernel that provides low interrupt latency and high rates of data throughput while meeting the tight memory requirements of DSP applications. OSEck is compatible with all BittWare TigerSHARC DSP boards.

FPGA Development Tools

Quartus II from Altera enables high levels of productivity and the fastest path to design completion for high-density FPGA design. It improves productivity compared to traditional high-density FPGA design flows.

In-Circuit Emulators

In-circuit emulators from Analog Devices provide real-time hardware emulation and debugging. Analog Devices offers emulators that are compatible with VisualDSP++ in high-performance USB and USB formats.
