BittWare's FINe™ is a host and control plane bridge supporting a variety of processing units including Altera FPGAs and ADI TigerSHARC DSPs. It facilitates separate control and data planes, greatly simplifying the development of data plane I/O and processing.
The FINe gives the processing unit low-overhead access to the host and also provides a general purpose peripheral bus that allows the processing unit access to on-board perhipherals such as Flash, 10/100 ethernet, and RS232/RS422 UART interfaces.
Extensive software support is provided via BittWare's BittWorks software tools for application development including a Host Interface Library (HIL) which supports run-time command and control, and the BittWare Toolkit for development and debugging.

BittWare’s FINe III Host/Control Bridge, implemented in the Altera® Cyclone® III, provides a complete control plane interface for the S4 FPGA computing products, based on the Altera® Stratix® IV GX FPGA.
On our S4 AdvancedMC products, the FINe III provides GigE via the common options region, along with 10/100 Ethernet and an RS232 monitor port on the AMC front panel, and is connected to the FPGA via a local control bus.
On our S4 VPX products, the FINe III provides GigE via the rear panel, along with 10/100 Ethernet and an RS-232 monitor port via a utility header, and is connected to the FPGA via a local control bus.

BittWare’s FINe II Host/Control Bridge, implemented in the Altera® Cyclone® II, provides a complete control plane interface for the GT and GX Hybrid (FPGA + DSP) products, based on the Altera® Stratix® II GX FPGA and the ADI TigerSHARC® TS201 DSP.
For our GX family products, the FINe II provides GigE via the common options region, along with 10/100 Ethernet and an RS232 monitor port on the AMC front panel, and is connected to the FPGA via a local control bus.
For our GT family products, the FINe II provides the DSPs with low-overhead access to the host. It also provides a general purpose peripheral bus that allows the DSPs to access the Flash, 10/100 Ethernet, and the RS232/RS422 UART interface. Host access is also provided to the DSPs, Flash, and FPGA control registers.
