Obsolescence Management

BittWare prides itself on its ability to provide its products for extended periods to minimize the impact on our customer’s programs. However, in some instances, BittWare may chose to obsolete a product due to component obsolescence, lack of sales performance, inability to support, inappropriate market fit, new version release, etc. In all cases, we will make our best effort to give notice of a planned product obsolescence months in advance.

Once a product has been targeted for obsolescence, BittWare will:

• Notify in writing its customers who may be impacted by this decision
• Offer these customers the opportunity to participate in a last time buy program that outlines timeframe for ordering and delivery
• Continue to provide technical support for a specified timeframe beyond delivery of the last units

BittWare has access to component obsolescence information on over 27 million part numbers and checks our entire AVL quarterly to make sure component availability has not been negatively affected by specific events with a manufacturer, or by the dynamic nature of the industry.

BittWare also offers this service to our customers for specific assemblies and BOMs on an as-needed basis. The service includes a report which:

• Classifies each part as Standard/Active, End Of Life, Constrained Supply, Obsolete, Not Recommended For New Designs, or Pending Risk Information
• Provides part status, including Lead-Free status, EU RoHS compliance and China RoHS labeling status
• Provides source availability (sole, dual or multi)
• Provides breadth of customer usage
• Provides lead-time
• Provides critical manufacturing data such as termination finish, peak soldering temperature, and moisture sensitivity level
