BittWare Announces Board Family Based on Altera’s Arria 10 FPGAs and SoCs
New FPGAs integrate hardened floating-point DSP operators, 28 Gbps transceivers, and dual-core ARM SoCs.

CONCORD, NH – BittWare, a premier board supplier for over 25 years, announces its latest board family: the A10 family based on Altera’s Arria® 10 FPGAs and SoCs. BittWare’s A10 board family leverages Arria 10 FPGAs’s exciting capabilities to build solid platforms in a variety of formats that support a wide range of challenging applications such as network processing & security, compute & storage, instrumentation, test & measurement, broadcast, medical imaging, wireless infrastructure, and signals intelligence. The A10 board family features flexible memory configurations, sophisticated clocking and timing options, QSFP28 cages that support 100Gbps (including 100GigE) optical transceivers, FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC), and support for the network-enabled Altera® SDK for OpenCL™.
Built on 20nm process technology, Arria 10 FPGAs and SoCs boast higher densities, higher performance, and a more power-efficient FPGA fabric than previous generations; they also integrate a richer feature set of embedded peripherals, high-speed transceivers up to 28Gbps, hard memory controllers, and protocol controllers. In addition, Arria 10 FPGAs and SoCs are the industry’s first FPGA to integrate hardened floating-point (IEEE 754-compliant) DSP blocks that deliver breakthrough floating-point performance of up to 1.5 TFLOPS. Arria 10 SoCs are also the industry’s only 20nm FPGA to integrate a dual-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ hard processor system (HPS).

A10 Family Overview
BittWare’s A10 family consists of 11 board variants, all supported by BittWare’s Board Management Controller (BMC), built-in USB Blaster, comprehensive BittWorks II software suite, and our FPGA Development Kit (FDK):
- Low Profile (half-length) PCIe boards with dual QSFP28 cages (allows two 40GigE, eight 10GigE direct to the FPGA for reduced latency), and DDR3:
- A10PL3-GT – also supports dual 100GigE
- Half-length (full height) PCIe boards with dual QSFP28 cages, DDR3, QDRII+, and dual SoDIMMs supporting additional DDR3, RLDRAM3 and QDRII+:

Arria 10 FPGAs and SoCs are comprised of three versions:
- Arria 10 GX: transceivers with data rates up to 17.4, and up to 1150K equivalent LEs;
- Arria 10 GT: transceivers with data rates up to 28.05 Gbps, and up to 1150K equivalent LEs;
- Arria 10 SX: SoCs enabled with a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 HPS, transceivers with data rates up to 17.4 Gbps, and up to 660K equivalent LEs.
