BittWare is incorporated in June of 1989

1991

Introduces DspHost, providing standard I/O routines to DSP boards

Introduces Gamma, first high-performance ADSP-21020 based DSP board for ISA bus

Creates DSP21k Toolkit, establishing the de facto industry standard for ADI floating-point DSP board host interface libraries

1992

Introduces Omega & Sigma, matching high-performance DSP with replaceable industry-standard I/O interfaces

1994

Selected by Analog Devices to develop their evaluation board for the ADSP-21062 SHARC DSP

Ships EZ-LAB, industry’s first commercial SHARC product

Co-authors SHARCPAC module specification, defining the standard for compact SHARC-based module

1995

Introduces BITSI, a SHARC-optimized I/O mezzanine interface specification, and shipped the first of 10 BITSI boards supporting video, ADC, DAC, camera, high speed digital I/O, and analog I/O

Introduces Snaggletooth, the first dual-SHARC ISA board with BITSI and SHARCPAC

1996

Introduces Megamouth, BittWare’s first PCI board and the industry’s first commercially available SHARC board for PCI-bus

Selected by Analog Devices to develop their evaluation board for the low-cost ADSP-21061 SHARC DS

1997

First to bring high-end DSP to PC/104 with the introduction of the Silvertip PC/104+ board

Introduces Whitetip-PMC, BittWare’s first single-processor SHARC product for PCI Mezzanine Card interface

Introduces the industry’s first SHARC-based CompactPCI board, the Snaggletooth-cPCI

1998

Snaggletooth-ISA product is selected to be main voice recording mechanism for the Virtual Environment Generator (VEG) in NASA’s Neurolab Experiment

Supplies custom DSP solution for USA Digital Radio’s IBOC DAB Field Test Systems

Introduces industry’s first PC/104 Quad SHARC DSP board, BittWare’s 25th board released since the company’s inception

The SpacePac, a PC-based option for application development on ADI’s rad-hardened 21020, is unveiled

1999

Industry veteran, Jeffry Milrod, is named BittWare President and CEO, joining forces with BittWare Founder Jim Bittman

2000

First to ship 21160-based DSP board - the Hammerhead-PCI – bringing ADI’s next generation of DSP to the COTS community

SharcFIN ASIC is introduced providing the industry’s first SHARC DSP to PCI bus interface

The first CompactPCI board based on the 21160 – the Hammerhead-cPCI – is released

2001

High-speed data acquisition card providing the first 12-bit, 80 MHz interface on PCI-bus is announced

Despite a downtrend in the industry, BittWare experiences record growth

2002

With ADI’s introduction of their TigerSHARC DSP, BittWare introduces their first TigerSHARC-based board, the Tiger-PCI

2003

New line of TigerSHARC products fuels record profits

2004

Begins partnership with Altera Corporation to design exclusively with Altera’s FPGAs

BittWare’s B2-AMC, their first Altera FPGA-based board, is announced, marking BittWare’s entrance into the AMC market

2005

The industry’s first TigerSHARC COTS VME/VXS, the T2-6U-VME, board is launched

Sales goals are once again exceeded and BittWare posts third record year in a row

2006

BittWare releases their 50th board - the GT-3U-cPCI – the first in a family of hybrid signal processing boards based on ADI’s TigerSHARC and Altera’s Stratix II GX technology

Line of hybrid FPGA/DSP products drives continued growth and brings record sales and profitability

2007

BittWare releases the GX-AMC, their first FPGA-computing product based on the Altera Stratix II GX

2008

BittWare named one of the top 10 Best Small Companies to Work For in NH

Inaugural product in family of Altera Stratix IV FPGA-based boards – the S4-AMC – is announced

BittWare once again experiences record sales and profits

2009

BittWare adopts VITA 57 FPGA Mezzanine Card Standard including VITA 57-compliant sites for processing & I/O expansion on S4 family of products

BittWare Announces Hybrid Signal Processing VPX Board GT-3U-VPX is the first VITA 46-based board from BittWare, providing the military with unprecedented signal processing capabilities
